Exhibition "Peregrinas"

"The preparation of an exhibition is always a deep look inside. It is the summary of a period.

The painter Viktória Szabó came to Finisterre as a pilgrim in 2017, when she decided to settle down.
On the Camino and after her arrival she met many women. Most of them decided to make a radical change in their lives and therefore stayed for a long time or have been living in Finisterre ever since.
The relationships that are established on the Camino are very special. They are born in a parallel world, outside the known systems. It is practically an intensive therapy that offers a lot of inner development. It is very enriching. The painter continued and deepened this process for several months during which she created this series of portraits. These are not simple representations of people, but show a deeper image of her models.
As a lover of nature, her paintings contain an infinite number of motifs relating to flora and fauna.
"The technique I used as a basis for my drawings and paintings is called "decalcomania", and it was one of the most widely used techniques in surrealism.
I create beautiful vegetal, natural forms and biomorphic textures on paper or canvas. Then I like to draw on this base with pen or Pitt pencil".
The exhibition of the artist: "Peregrinas" opens on the 1st of June at the Faro Cabo Vilán and can be seen until the end of the month.
